Vestigios -P.1 is the body of work resulting from an extensive project of sculptural experimentation with high-temperature ceramic materials and the exploration of architectural geometries in their simplest forms, developed between 2023 and 2024. The pieces in this series emerge from a personal urgency to reflect on the tangible remnants we will leave behind in a space-time inaccessible to us — a hypothetical future in which we will no longer exist as a species — and the possible appearance of such an environment. With this intention, through the material conditions of black porcelain in fusion with the varying properties of the minerals and oxides used in the glazes, Vestigios -P.1 allows us to contemplate the horizon of a sculptural landscape that abstracts the forms and textures of that possible space-time, one that exists only within the space of imagination. In this way, the work establishes a dialogue between the ephemeral and the eternal of our condition as "inhabitants".
Through these works, I invite reflection on durability and transience. I seek to recognize in ceramics a manifestation of the organic and inorganic vestige, identifying it as an artistic language that does not entirely erase its practical and utilitarian functions, and that positions itself as both sign and cultural object.
